SDFFCU - A BETTER ALTERNATIVE
San Diego Firefighters Federal Credit Union was founded in 1984 by a group of firefighters determined to create a better financial alternative for their fellow firefighters and their families.

At that time, in addition to the dedication and determination exhibited by this group of founding volunteers, SDFFCU also received financial and moral support from the San Diego Firemanís Relief Association and the San Diego Firefighters Local 145. (Actually. some of those same founding fathers have remained dedicated and are still volunteering their time at the credit union today).

OUR GROWING FAMILY
By the end of that first year, the credit union had just over $1 million in assets. Since then, the credit union has grown to over $65 million in assets. The credit union currently has approximately 3300 members and one of the highest average savings balance per member among San Diego County Credit Unions. The credit union is also very strong financially with over $4.5 million in Capital Reserves.
